Spring 2021 FAQs

Students will be able to view their tuition and fee charges on December 6. UT will generate official statements in MyUTK on December 16. The Bursar’s Office will email students and authorized users when these are ready to view.

Online payments are fast, secure and convenient. Visit onestop.utk.edu/pay to make your payment today. Acceptable online payment methods are electronic check, credit cards and debit cards. There is a fee associated with paying by credit or debit, but there is no fee for paying by e-check. If you want to mail your payment or an external scholarship check, the address is: The University of Tennessee, Office of the Bursar, 211 Student Services Building, Knoxville, TN 37996-0225.

Your financial aid may not be in MyUTK for one of the following reasons:

  • You did not complete a 2020-2021 FAFSA. Visit fafsa.gov to complete.
  • You have a financial aid tracking requirement that prevents your aid from applying to your account.

If you have not already done so, please go to fafsa.gov and complete the FAFSA for the 2020-2021 aid year and list UT as your #1 institution with TSAC. The HOPE Scholarship will never pay unless these steps are complete. To update your school with TSAC, go to tn.gov/collegepays.

If you have filled out a FAFSA and updated your school with TSAC, be sure to check your Hope hours and GPA in MyUTK to ensure that you have maintained eligibility for the scholarship.

Refunds for excess financial aid will begin processing the week of January 25. You can transfer available excess aid to your VolCard beginning on January 13 in MyUTK.

Beginning January 13, you can transfer up to $1,000 to your VolCard. Follow these steps:

  • Log in to MyUTK
  • Select VolCard Transfer in the My Financials section.
  • Enter the amount you wish to transfer and hit submit.

The funds will be available to use within 24 hours. The last day to transfer funds is January 21 at 4:30pm.

Some students and families may need verification of enrollment at UT. This is commonly requested by insurance companies. We make certificates available to students through our partnership with the National Student Clearinghouse. You can print these official certificates online through MyUTK for free.

Continuing students who do not register until the first day of class will be assessed a $100 late registration fee. If you register after February 3, the fee will increase to $200.
