Undergraduate Tuition Caps

Undergraduate students who take 12 or more credit hours at UTK during a semester are charged a flat rate of $5,666 for tuition.

Any credit hours that taken at another campus during the semester will not count towards the total credit hour mark and the student will be charged at the normal per-credit-hour rate at each location.

Some fees that are based on credit hours may not be affected by the tuition cap. These include:

  • Mandatory Fees – Reaches maximum levels at 9 credit hours.
  • Library Fee – Reaches maximum levels at 8 credit hours.

PLEASE NOTE: Undergraduate students enrolled in Engineering, Business (except 100, 500, and 600 level), Nursing, Architecture and Design courses will be charged a differential per-credit-hour rate. Differential tuition is not included in the tuition cap calculation.
