Scholarships for Continuing Undergraduate Students

Generous donors at the University of Tennessee have provided a variety of scholarships gifts for students that consider a wide range of qualifications. To be eligible for competitive academic college scholarships for the upcoming school year, you must complete the Continuing Undergraduate Student Scholarship Application through this scholarship platform by March 1 each year.

Transfer Students

Spring Terms

Transfers students for spring terms are considered continuing students and should complete this application by March 1. (For example, Spring 2024 transfer students should complete the application by March 1, 2024.)

Summer/Fall Terms

Transfer students for summer and fall terms must complete the application by July 1 of the year they will transfer to UTK. (For example, Summer or Fall 2024 transfer students should complete the application by July 1, 2024.)

Most colleges and departments at the University offer a variety of scholarships for students. Hundreds of scholarships are awarded each year based on the completion of this scholarship application. Students can be matched to scholarships they’re eligible for, as many colleges have their own rubrics for scholarship eligibility.

Almost all of the colleges and departments at UT offer scholarships for continuing students. Please contact your college or department if you have questions about scholarship opportunities or your eligibility for awards.

These scholarships range in amount from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

These scholarships vary in nature; some are recurring, while others will only apply to your account one time. Your college department will let you know if your scholarship is recurring.

Almost always, yes! The majority of UT scholarships are stackable up to your cost of attendance.

Many of the scholarship accounts fund more than one student. Even if another student has received a certain scholarship, you may also be eligible to receive that award.

You do not have to submit your application in one sitting. To apply for a continuing student scholarship, you are welcome to work on your application progressively and revisit the application multiple times, as long as you submit your application by March 1.

Scholarship applications are tailored to your college or department, so different students may experience different versions of the application. The length of your application depends on your program of study.

It’s important that you put effort into your submission and provide high-quality answers to the application questions. These questions are intended to help scholarship committees learn information about you that is not included on your record, including a financial need or a personal accomplishment.
