Award Amounts
These award amounts are based on international students receiving out-of-state tuition and fee charges. If your residency status changes, it could affect your award amount.

This scholarship cannot be combined with the Volunteer Scholarship.

Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for the International Tennessee Explore Scholarship, you must:
- Be an incoming first-year, international student (non-resident visa holder who will not graduate from a US high school) with a minimum 3.6 GPA* who applies for admission by May 1 of their final year in high school
- Submit new test scores to determine eligibility for the International Tennessee Explore Scholarship by July 1
- You must matriculate the fall semester immediately following your high school graduation

How to Apply
Incoming first-year, international students (non-resident visa holder who will not graduate from a US high school) with a minimum 3.6 GPA* who apply for admission by May 1 of their final year in high school will be automatically considered for these institutional scholarships.
How to Keep the International Tennessee Explore Scholarship
In order to keep the International Tennessee Explore Scholarship, you’re required to:
- Maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and good academic standing
- Maintain full-time enrollment throughout each semester
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements
How does this combine with other scholarships?
The International Tennessee Explore Scholarship cannot combine with other UT institutionally funded scholarships, and international recipients are not eligible for federal or state financial aid. However, if you are awarded a donor-funded scholarship competitively, those will usually* be allowed to stack.
If you have been offered the award and improves your GPA and/or ACT scores during the allowable window of time prior to starting at UT, you may be eligible to elevate to the International Volunteer Scholarship. You should submit your updated high school transcripts and new ACT or SAT scores to UT so they may be received before July 1.
