Exemplary first-year international applicants (non-US citizens or permanent residents and will not graduate from a US high school) who choose not to submit ACT or SAT test scores on their admissions application and have a minimum 3.8 Converted & Weighted Core GPA are automatically considered to receive the Beacon Scholarship. The Beacon Scholarship is determined by committee on the basis of outstanding academic achievement, extracurricular engagement, demonstrated leadership, and commitment to their communities and without consideration of financial need. Students must submit their application for admission by the May 1 deadline to be fully considered. No additional scholarship application is required.
Beacon Scholarships are four-year awards and retained by maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA, good academic standing, and full-time enrollment each semester. This scholarship is not stackable with the Volunteer or the Tennessee Explore scholarships. You must matriculate the fall semester immediately following your high school graduation. International students who reside in the United States and will graduate from a US high school should refer to the in-state and out-of-state scholarships webpage.
Please note that there are certain student populations who are required to submit test scores as part of their application and would not be eligible for this scholarship.
Based on outstanding academic achievement, extracurricular engagement, demonstrated leadership, and commitment to their communities:
- International students are eligible to receive scholarships between $4,000–$18,000 annually.
