Overview
Generous donors at the University of Tennessee have provided a variety of scholarships gifts for students that consider a wide range of qualifications. To be eligible for competitive academic college scholarships for the upcoming school year, you must complete the Continuing Undergraduate Student Scholarship Application.

Eligibility and Criteria
You must complete the Continuing Undergraduate Student Scholarship Application by March 1 each year to be considered for general scholarships and college-specific scholarships.
Transfer students may have different deadlines; please read the transfer student language in the how to apply section below.
Transferring to UT for Spring 2025? Your application deadline is March 1, 2025.
Transferring to UT for Summer or Fall 2025? Your application deadline is July 1, 2025.
How to Apply
You must complete the Continuing Undergraduate Student Scholarship Application by March 1 each year to be considered for general scholarships and college-specific scholarships.
We recommend checking with your academic department, as some departments require additional information. If you have questions about academic college and departmental scholarships, please contact the individual college or department directly. The deadline to submit your application is March 1.

Transfer Students
- Spring Semester – New transfer students for spring semesters are considered continuing students and should complete this application by March 1. (For example, Spring 2024 transfer students should complete the application by March 1, 2024.)
- Summer Term & Fall Semester – New transfer students for summer and fall semesters must complete the application by July 1 of the year they will transfer to UTK. (For example, Summer or Fall 2024 transfer students should complete the application by July 1, 2024.)

How many scholarships are offered each year?
Colleges and departments at the university offer a variety of scholarships for students. Hundreds of scholarships are awarded each year based on the completion of this scholarship application. Students can be matched to scholarships they’re eligible for, as many colleges have their own rubrics for scholarship eligibility.
Do all colleges offer scholarships for continuing students?
Almost all of the colleges and departments at UT offer scholarships for continuing students. Please contact your college or department if you have questions about scholarship opportunities or your eligibility for awards.
What is the range of the amounts these scholarships provide?
These scholarships range in amount from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.
Are these scholarships one-time or recurring?
These scholarships vary in nature; some are recurring, while others will only apply to your account one time. Your college department will let you know if your scholarship is recurring.
Are these scholarships stackable?
Almost always, yes! The majority of UT scholarships are stackable up to your cost of attendance.
Do many students receive the same scholarship, or will the scholarships only apply to one student?
Many of the scholarship accounts fund more than one student. Even if another student has received a certain scholarship, you may also be eligible to receive that award.
How long does it take to apply for a continuing student scholarship?
You do not have to submit your application in one sitting. To apply for a continuing student scholarship, you are welcome to work on your application progressively and revisit the application multiple times, as long as you submit your application by March 1.
Transfer students who are entering UTK in the summer term or fall semester must submit this application by July 1.
