Student ID and Access Information

NetID and Password

Your NetID is the name part of your UT e-mail address. For example:

Your password is used with your NetID to access:

  • MyUTK
  • Campus wireless connections
  • UT e-mail
  • The Banner DARS and Blackboard systems
  • Your financial aid account
  • Your academic history
  • Library services
  • Lab computers

Student ID Number

Your student ID is a nine-digit number that uniquely identifies you at UT. For example: 000123456. The Undergraduate Admissions Office or the Graduate Admissions Office will tell you your student ID. Your ID is also printed on your Student ID card (VolCard).

When your account is paid, your student ID is electronically validated before classes begin.
