How Do I Add a Class to My Schedule?

Log into MyUTK, go to the UTK Student Registration Links Web Part, and click on the Add/Drop Classes link.

If you’re a part-time student, your charges increase when you add more hours during a term. Your VOLXpress account will reflect the increased amounts and payment due dates. Late payment fees are in effect for increased charges.

Adding a Class That’s Closed or Full

You should keep checking MyUTK to see if a seat opens before the class begins. You can view available seats using the enrollment report.

Contact the department or instructor to find out if there’s a wait list for the class.

Contact your academic advisor to discuss your alternatives if you’re unable to get in a closed class.

Attend class the first day to try to get permission to add it.

You can only be on the waitlist for one section of a class at a time. You cannot be on the waitlist for a different section of a class if you’re already enrolled in that class.

How Do I Add a Course After the Add Deadline?

You need to complete a Change of Registration Form, also known as an add slip. You can get the form online or at the Registrar’s Office, 209 Student Services Building, phone: 865-974-2101.

Late fees are assessed for courses added after the deadline.
