Outside Interests/Hobbies

I really love to travel. In a perfect world, I would spend half the year traveling and the other part of the year working in higher education. I enjoy just exploring both new and familiar cities. I like getting out seeing how other people live by going to local hangouts and eating local foods. I will try any food once!

I also love natural hair and makeup tutorial blogs and videos. I can spend hours watching people demonstrate hairstyles or techniques that have worked for them or not worked for them. I have tried a number of hairstyle and products with varying degrees of success. I love the idea that people are finding ways to appreciate the features and attributes unique to them and the willingness to share their experiences with others in order to create community and with the hope that others can come to appreciate what is special and unique to them.

What You Enjoy About Working with Students

One thing that I have discovered about college students and college campuses is that the student population creates a space where the pursuit of knowledge intertwines with hard work, creativity, excitement, and potential in ways that no other institution can replicate. The atmosphere created on a campus is generated by the student population and facilitated through faculty and staff. Students have an excitement and openness to the future that inspires me to want to maintain my own excitement about the possibilities of the future. Student enthusiasm is contagious, and it pushes me to want to contribute to the student experience in positive and meaningful ways.
