Class Catalogs and Guidelines
UT uses Blackboard apps so students can keep up with classes, join live sessions, and talk to instructors on their mobile devices.
Online Course Management
The Online@UT website provides access to UTK’s online course management system. To learn more about how Online@UT works, visit the What is Online@UT page. Students who need to know how to get started can use the Blackboard tutorial. Instructors who aren’t familiar with Blackboard Learn or Online@UT can take the Introduction to Online@UT course.
Class Fee (Tuition) Waiver for Employees
Any employee who meets the requirements in HR Policy 0330 may request a fee waiver to take classes at UT. Tuition charges for a maximum of nine semester hours may be waived for regular full-time employees. As of fall 2013, employees who take more than nine hours will pay for the additional hours based on the new cost per credit hour under the 15-4 Tuition Model. Part-time employees may receive a prorated tuition waiver based on the percentage of time you’re employed. These fee waivers are contingent on your pay status the first day of classes each term.
You must get your department head’s approval to take classes during normal working hours. Our Discounts and Waivers section details more about the types of discounts. The Human Resources website has more information on the qualifications and procedures.
