How to Get Copies of Your Transcript

Alumni can use the Transcript Ordering Portal to create a secure account and place an order.

There are several ways you can receive your transcript including: e-mail, regular mail, and picking it up in person.

You can also authorize UT to send a transcript directly to a third party.

Repaying Your Loans

For information on repaying UT loans and Federal Perkins Loans, check with the UT Student Loans Office.

For federal loans, you can go to StudentLoans.gov and look in the Managing Repayment section for calculators; information if you have trouble making payments; loan forgiveness options; and information on Federal Direct loans that are: subsidized, unsubsidized, parent PLUS, and graduate/professional PLUS.

The state of Tennessee posts information on several types of loan forgiveness programs. For help with other types of loans including budget concerns and special circumstances, contact the lender.


Tax Benefits for Education

The IRS posts information on tax credits, deductions, and savings plans that can help taxpayers with their expenses for higher education.

You can also retrieve your tuition statement (Form 1098-T).

How to Order Duplicate Diplomas

You can order additional diplomas from UT by submitting an order form. Information about the cost, the size, and the method of payment is posted on our Diplomas page, along with a form you can download.


Verification Letters

UT has an agreement with the National Student Clearinghouse to provide online access for copies of enrollment verification forms, lender information, loan information, and degree verification. Information is posted here on how it works.

Take Classes as a Non-Degree Student

If you have already earned a Bachelor’s degree and you’re not seeking another undergraduate degree, you may take classes at UT as a non-degree seeking student. The Undergraduate Admissions Office has more information posted to guide you through readmission and registration. Non-degree students are not eligible to receive financial aid.


Alumni Organizations

The Office of Alumni Affairs promotes UT and provides a variety of programs, events, and services that help to serve our alumni base of over 220,000 worldwide. You can choose from several programs to participate in, including: Awards, Baby Vol Club, Black Alumni Program, Chancellor’s Associates, Alumni Travel Program, Reunions, and Young Alumni.

The historic Tyson House, in the heart of campus, serves as the home of the Knoxville campus office, as well as the University of Tennessee Alumni Association. It’s open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
